Hi! I'm Imani.
I am a Seattle-based UX Designer with a Master of Science in Information Management. I am dedicated to understanding people, their behavior and how they use technology.
I am also...
a Student-Athlete
Throughout both my undergraduate and graduate career, I was also a UW track and field student-athlete. Being a part of collegiate athletics at the D1 level has taught me how to be a leader both on and off the track, and has instilled in me commitment, determination and resilience.
a Husky
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Washington with a major in Communications and a minor in Informatics. I also earned my Master of Science in Information Management from the UW iSchool. This unique combination allowed me to study interactions between people and technology and is what led me to UX, where I can continue to investigate innovative ways to improve those experiences.
I am also...
I am also passionate about bridging the gap between women of color and technology. There is a dire need for underrepresented, female voices in the UX and product design industries and not only do I want to bridge diverse communities, but I also want to be a role model for other women of color looking to grow in the tech world.
My experiences make for a unique perspective on cultural differences and therefore serve as preparation and motivation to prioritize user experiences and give a voice to all users of a product, system, or service. I am currently seeking opportunities to use my empathetic and diverse approach to design to contribute to meaningful projects with a positive impact.
When I'm not designing, you can catch me working out, going on long walks and finding new coffee shops around Seattle!
